Bessemer City Central Elementary is proud to be one of just 10 Innovation Schools in Gaston County for this school year. As an Innovation School, we focus on strategy, purpose and energy to improve student learning. Our school benefits from extra instructional support and advanced teacher roles to help every child succeed.

At Bessemer City Central, we believe in the power of whole-child learning. That means we’re focused on helping students grow academically, socially and emotionally so they can make a difference and reach their full potential.

We are a true community school with strong family ties. Many of our students have parents and grandparents who once walked these same halls. Our staff works closely with families to build strong relationships through events like our fall festival, spring fling and science night.

We’re excited to offer new and unique programs for our students this year, including Spoons Across America to promote healthy eating habits, a gardening program, and a hands-on science lab. We also offer many opportunities for students to explore the arts. Our young artists are often recognized in local and regional art shows for their creativity and talent.
